Yes, it’s petty.
We’ve been driving a fair amount these past couple of weeks, and like most people who are control oriented, I was doing most, if not all the driving.
In this situation, I am slowly learning that one must remain calm for the comfort of your passenger. This includes calmness in the face of all traffic situations. And, also like most drivers, I am always in the right. I am the best driver that ever touched the earth. I am simply the most caring, thoughtful, safe, efficient, smooth driver that ever was.
One of my favourite signs that I saw recently was in Idaho.
There are subtle differences with our sign:
I think Alberta should switch to the former. The present one seems more like a mild suggestion, rather than, “If you don’t do this, you’ll be in trouble (sort of)”.
Basically what I don’t understand is why people insist on driving in the left lane when they are driving slower than everyone else. Not only that, they are oblivious to people coming up behind them. Flashing lights, dirty looks, don’t do anything.
If I want to drive absurdly fast (and I am not saying I am, so you can’t just give me a ticket for saying I am driving too fast) that’s my business. You are not the pace car.
Once again. I am right, and you are wrong. So move the eff over.
